Graded VG 3 by SGC. The notorious sour mood and fiery competitiveness of Ty Cobb is the stuff of legend and is more than likely a bit exaggerated. This attractive 1909-1911 T206 White Border Ty Cobb Green Portrait shows the softer side of the Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer. This wildly popular rendering of "The Georgia Peach" is quite the "looker" as it showcases evenly worn corners, bright white edges and flawless registration. While a spider wrinkle traces upward from the bottom middle edge toward Cobb's left shoulder, the overall impact to the legend's eye appeal is not significant. Additionally, a slight factory diamond cut does not disrupt in the least this most famous of Cobb's four T206 poses. The slightly soiled Piedmont 150 Subjects back has otherwise weathered the century in fine shape. A monumental proposition for those seeking to conquer "The Monster!" Opening Bid $2,500.
