From the land of "here's one you don't see everyday", comes this attractive 1969 Louisville Slugger Little League Bats advertisement poster. Though not meant to survive the harsh test of time, this scarce 22-1/2 x 37" poster has held up well. Sporting a clean surface, bold colors, sharp player photos, and decent gloss, this sturdy survivor technically rates as (VG+) due to a 1/4" notch of loss on the right edge, and a few creases that are both short and light in nature. Printed at top is "Louisville Slugger Approved Little League Bats", followed by images of various signature model bats. The pay-off is seen at bottom, in photos of twenty of the period's top sluggers, with Lou Brock, Bobby Murcer, Ernie Banks, Carl Yastrzemski, Roberto Clemente, Pete Rose, Ken Harrelson, Frank Robinson, Mickey Mantle, Johnny Bench, Rod Carew, Dick McAuliffe, "Rusty" Staub, Curt Flood, Al Kaline, Tony Oliva, Rico Petrocelli, Hank Aaron, Brooks Robinson, and Reggie Jackson. On a historical note, divisional play was new in 1969, and the inclusion of "Le Grand Orange" in a Montreal Expos uniform, makes this vintage point-of-sale poster one of the earlier national advertisements featuring a representative of the first-year expansion squad.
