"Say Hey" to a nice find, with this 1954 Willie Mays baseball game. The 7-1/4 x 7-1/4" square box features a photo of Mays on the lid, along with the title "Say Hey! It's Willie Mays' Baseball Game", against a green background. Printed on the lower left corner of the lid, and on all of the side panels, is "An Oliver Game © 1954 Toy Development Co. Inc.". The contents include three outcome spinners, with one each for pitching, fielding and batting; two unused score card sheets; five plastic disc position markers, and most importantly, a sheet with a playing field on one side, and the rules, and a photo of Mays on the other side. Despite moderate wear, including minor surface paper loss at the corners, the lid remains fairly solid and attractive, however the price "49¢" is written on it in black. The contents show light tp moderate wear, and remain attractive. Mays was riding high at the time, having won the 1954 NL MVP award, and this well-timed game was likely a big hit, though nowadays, it positions as rare.
