Football’s elite take the bidding field, with this collection of (39) Hall of Famer and star autographed flats. All but (7) of these all-time greats have a bust in Canton, and those who are not enshrined in the Hall, were mostly star quarterbacks of the 1960s-1970s. A mix of trading cards, art cards, cachets, and first day covers, the assorted flats are generally attractive, however (3) cards show significant wear. Penmanship is a big plus, with the autographs ranging (“8” to “10”) in potency.
Highlights come with auction LOA from James Spence/JSA:
Hall of Famer single-signed trading cards (3): 1971 Topps #1 Johnny Unitas (card has heavy creasing at bottom, without affecting the autograph), 1970 Topps #10 Bob Griese, 1988 Swell #133 Fran Tarkenton;
Ray Nitschke single-signed photo on the back of a 1990 Green Bay Packers pocket schedule;
Multi-signed first day cover dated 9/9/90 with (12) Hall of Famer autographs: Herb Adderly, Jim Taylor, Ray Nitschke, Tony Canadeo, Chuck Bednarik, Doug Atkins, Jack Ham, Sonny Jurgensen, Willie Davis, Jim Parker, Tex Schramm, Sam Huff;
