Huggins and Scott Auctions enthusiastically presents the Timely Comics Collection. In the beginning, publisher Martin Goodman founded Timely Comics in 1939. The super-hero craze boomed throughout the WWII era, and Timely was at the forefront with iconic heroes Captain America, Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, and Angel. Also on hand, were sidekicks Bucky and Toro, who enjoyed starring roles in the Young Allies title. After the war ended, Goodman re-branded Timely as Atlas, steering away from super-heroes, and into other genres. The line was re-branded again in 1961, and has since be known as the Marvel Comics Group.

Offered in our current auction, are dozens of comics dating from 1940-1955. For the most part, these important Gold Age comics are pre-code Timely publications graded by CGC. Others are from the Atlas period, a small percentage are from other publishers, and one book has been graded by CBCS. Many issues star the big three characters Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, or Captain America, in their own titles and others, such as Marvel Mystery Comics. Comics from this era are greatly prized in today's market, especially those published during the war years, as they are seriously tough to come by. Enjoy this thrilling opportunity to grow your collection, by adding these Gold Age treasures.

Strike college gold, with these (13) 1940s Timely Comics Gold Age funnies issues. Books from this period are getting tougher and tougher all the time. Finding a "baker's dozen" bundled together is always a welcome sight.
