Behold a thing of beauty, with this 1955 Schaefer Beer World Series Champion Brooklyn Dodgers pop-up advertisement. Formatted in 3-D style, this vintage promoter layers three rows of die cut player images, set in a faux wood frame, which in turn is professionally mounted in a 24x14x3 shadowbox frame. The Schaefer logo has been removed from the top border, presumably to accommodate framing, and hairline tears and a very small spot of surface loss are noted where the red logo seal was formerly attached. Despite this condition, display appeal remains off the charts, with easily recognizable photos of the “Boys of Summer”, who won the only World Series championship of the franchise’s Brooklyn tenure. Key stars noted are Roy Campanella, Jackie Robinson, “Duke” Snider, Gil Hodges, “Pee Wee” Reese, Carl Furillo, Don Newcombe, Johnny Podres, and a very youthful Sandy Koufax, appearing in his rookie season.
