This 8-1/2 x 6-3/4" photo captured New York Giants sluggers Mel Ott and Johnny McCarthy having a drink from an overhead shower, after beating their crosstown rivals, the Yankees, in Game 4 on the '37 Fall Classic. Small surfaces impressions, and a barely perceptible crease are only detected upon close inspection, otherwise this antique photo reports as a very pleasing (Vg-Ex) example. This scene was as close as Ott, McCarthy and their teammates were going to get towards satisfying their thirst for victory during the late-1930s, as the unstoppable Yankees beat them for the second straight year, in the midst of a consecutive four-year run of World Series triumphs.
