The 1937 World Series pitted the New York Yankees against the New York Giants for their second straight Fall Classic meeting. The outcome of this “Subway Series”, was pretty much the same as in ’36, but instead of the Yankees winning in six games, this time it only took five. Served up is a very solid program from the 1937 World Series. Neatly scored for the Yankees 8-1 win in Game 1, this well-preserved program rates as (EX-MT+), with a tight spine, fairly sharp corners, and bold colors, with only a half dozen small spine ticks standing in the way of a higher grade. Both teams’ scoring grids are fully recorded, with the Yankees grid showing Lou Gehrig with 2 walks and a run scored; Joe DiMaggio 2/4, with 2 RBI; Bill Dickey 1/3, with an RBI, and a run; and Tony Lazzeri 1/4, with an RBI, and a run. “Lefty” Gomez got the win, and Carl Hubbell was tagged with the loss, while Giants slugger Mel Ott suffered an “O-fer”. Opening Bid $150.
