The “Deadball” era comes alive, with this 1912 PC776 Robert Robinson baseball postcard set of (4) in framed display. Rivaling the nostalgic work of Norman Rockwell, the gorgeous artwork on these antique postcards is captivating. All (4) cards present as sharp and clean, and the original period 19x9 frame remains handsome, with just minor touches of wear. From left to right, the subjects are: 1.) fans rooting; 2.) catcher tracking a pop-up; 3.) Honus Wagner-like player squared to bunt; and 4.) determined youth pitching. Printed at bottom left of each card, are the names of the copyright owner “Edward Gross”; and the publisher “The Curtis Publishing Co.”. Though this set officially consists of twelve postcards, the other eight are not sports related, and for baseball collecting purposes, these four are all that’s required.
