Two months prior to his 18th birthday, Joe DiMaggio made his professional baseball debut, playing the last three games of the 1932 PCL season for the San Francisco Seals, going from semi-pro ball directly to the highest level of minor league play. At the time, St. Louis was the westernmost outpost for Major League Baseball, and the PCL was a first rate West Coast proving ground for many future MLB stars. "Joltin' Joe" flat out crushed it during his three full seasons with the Seals, including a 61-game hit streak in 1933, and an MVP award in 1935.

A very early Joe DiMaggio autograph is had, with this c.1932-1933 PCL player multi-signed album. A total of (31) autographs range 6 to 9 in potency, throughout this well-preserved 6-1/2 x 4" album. Most of the autographs are by members of the 1932 Portland Beavers, including team owner Thomas L. (Tom) Turner.

Applied on a page along with (2) of his 1933 SF Seals teammates, DiMaggio's autograph rates as an 8 strength example, and is accompanied by the inscriptions "Seals, August 23, 1933", in DiMaggio's hand. One of the earliest autographs by DiMaggio as a pro ballplayer, this dated signature is truly an historic treasure.

The (31) autographs as they appear front to back are: Hank McDonald, Art Jacobs, "Pinky" Higgins, Jim Peterson, Thomas L. Turner with "President, Portland Beavers, 1932", Connie Moar with "Toilet Man", John Fitzpatrick, Ed Lipanovee, Bob Reeves, Paul Zahniser, Frank Osborn, Joe Palmisano, John (Augie) Prudhomme, Joe Bowman, Lou Finney, Frankie Gira, Myer Chozen, Jim Keesey, Lou Koupal, Fred Berger, "Doc" Jim Turner, Ben Sankey, Bob Johnson, Ernie Sulik with "San Francisco 33", Eddie Stutz with "San Francisco 33", Johnnie Monroe, undetermined, Ed Coleman, "Chick" Bottarini with "Seals, August 23, 1933", Joe DiMaggio with "Seals, August 23, 1933", and Jimmie Zinn with "August 23, 1933.
