A lot of things went well for the New York Yankees in 1956. Mickey Mantle had a Triple Crown season and was named AL MVP. Mantle, Billy Martin, “Yogi” Berra, Gil McDougald, “Whitey” Ford, and Johnny Kucks all made the AL All-Star team. Don Larsen pitched the only “perfect game” in World Series history, “Casey” Stengel earned his 8th World Series ring, and so far as we know, Martin didn’t get in any barroom brawls.
Commemorate the Yankees 17th World Series title, with this 1956 team-signed baseball. The Reach factory labeling stamps of this period signed OAL/Harridge ball are mostly faded away, however the ball remains attractive, with even light-cream toning. A total of (24) autographs range (“5” to “7”) with:
Sweet spot: “Yogi” Berra (HOF), Mickey Mantle (“7” HOF);
North panel: Bill Skowron, Ed Robinson, Johnny Kucks, Bob Cerv, Bob Grim, Phil Rizzuto (HOF);
