Sometime during the 1963 season, a Topps' photographer got creative by rounding up sluggers Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Al Kaline, and Norm Cash, for a fantastic photo that wound up as card #331 in Topps' 1964 series. Aptly titled "A.L. Bombers", this classic card pictures the four heavy hitters gleefully holding up their war clubs, on the front of one of the best cards of the decade. Here we have a crisp, clean example of this collector favorite, signed by Roger Maris, who earned his way into the quartet with back-to-back MVP awards, and a record-breaking 1961 season. Applied over his mighty right arm, Roger's distinctive ballpoint pen autograph is a firm ("9") strength example. Full photo LOA from JSA.
