Self-taught photographer and artist David Boss got his first NFL job in 1958. His tremendous talent and keen eye for composition, had him quickly moving up the ladder, and in 1965 he was named Corporate Vice President and Creative Director for NFL Properties. At this point in his career, he created a series of amazing NFL paintings that truly captured the spirit of the game. These paintings were the basis for the first series of NFL posters, which were issued c.1968.

Bundled for your collecting pleasure are (16) Boss NFL canvas prints. These artist enhanced prints take the field in excellent condition overall, and all mounted in coordinated 20x26 frames, that show minimal to minor wear. The embellished touches of oil paint on the surfaces of the canvasses, give these scarce vintage prints the look of fine art, with the resultant display appeal off the charts.

Featured teams are: San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Colts, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and Los Angeles Rams.

For his treasured body of work, Boss was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1992, and he is also credited with creating the NFL's "Pro!" program magazine. The inclusion of the Bengals piece in this collection, suggests Boss was given permission to include AFL teams in his artistic output, as the NFL-AFL merger was imminent at the time the first NFL posters were released.
