"The Singing Cowboy" gave many lasting gifts, including the Los Angeles Angels, along with a slew of movies, records, comic books and more. Perhaps his most widely enjoyed gift, is his 1947 hit song "Here Comes Santa Claus". Co-written by Gene Autry and Oakley Haldeman, this charming holiday tune has been covered by countless signers over the years, several of which have their names printed on the front cover of this vintage piece of sheet music. Copyright dated "1947, 1948", this crisp and glossy sheet music (EX+) was likely printed sometime between the late-1950s to early-1960s, based on the names of the singers listed near the bottom right corner. Autry has signed ("10") at top left, with a salutation and date inscription, that reads in full as "Best Wishes from Gene Autry, 7-12-89". Auction LOA from JSA.
