It's been nearly sixty years since Hall of Fame hurler Eppa Rixey boarded the train for the "Field of Dreams". A durable pitcher who made the transition from the dead ball era to the modern game while with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Cincinnati Reds, Rixey was voted into the Hall of Fame about a month before his demise in 1963. Just over fifteen months before his death, he signed the offered index card, as testified to by his included date inscription "11-20-61". Evidently the great southpaw's hands were a bit shaky by the time he signed this card, however he still managed to produce a fairly firm ("8") strength autograph. The crisp, white card has slightly irregular edges, which will be of no consequence in framed display. Full photo LOA from JSA.
