In honor of the Baseball Hall of Fame's 50th Anniversary, the Perez-Steele Galleries issued the Celebration postcard set in 1989. Styled after the 1887 W.S. Kimball & Co. Champions cards, these gorgeous 3-1/2 x 5-1/2" postcards depict Hall of Fame Inductees who were living at the time of production. Though this series was produced with autograph collectors in mind, three of the legendary subjects, Bill Terry, "Lefty" Gomez and Judy Johnson, passed away in 1989 before the set was released, leaving a total of forty-one possible cards that could have been autographed. Here we have a complete set of (45) of these prized art cards with matching LE numbering of "7,656/10,000", that average (NM to NM-MT) condition, including (35) that are signed with average ("9-10") strength.
