It has been nearly a hundred years since The Three Stooges began entertaining fans with their brilliant style of slapstick comedy. Moe and Shemp joined Ted Healy's troupe in 1922 and a little more than a decade later the "Moe, Larry and Curly" lineup began the Stooges run of 190 two-reel short films that ended in the late 1950s. Soon after the Stooges run of short films ended, Fleer picked up the slack with a 96-card "The 3 Stooges" set in 1959. Featuring colorized scenes from the familiar film shorts, this set was produced on both white and gray cardboard stock. Better grade examples with the condition sensitive gray backs are pretty tough to find, as it is well-known that Stooges cards printed on gray stock have a tendency to deteriorate.
