Dodger aces Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale are the subjects of these (2) 1960s William Jacobellis photographs. Each black-and-white portrayal measures 10x8”. Koufax is shown during a mound meeting with skipper Walt Alston and catcher John Roseboro. Roseboro’s number “8” dates the photo to either the 1958 season or sometime between 1961 and 1966. Drysdale is shown blowing a bubble while wearing a batting helmet. A noted authority on pitching, Drysdale wasn’t too shabby with the bat, either. While he wasn’t brushing hitters off the plate, he did some digging in himself and launched 29 career home runs. Both crease-free photos have the Jacobellis New York studio stamping on the reverse.
