Enter the realm of weird worlds, uncanny tales, mystery and suspense, with this thrilling collection of Gold and Silver Age comic books. The current Marvel Comics Group was founded by Martin Goodman in 1939 as Timely Publications, re-branded in 1951 as Atlas Comics and re-re-branded Marvel Comics in 1961. A small segment of Goodman's publishing empire, the comics division rode the first wave of super-hero popularity through the postwar period of the late-1940s, re-focused on horror, sci-fi, monster and other genres in the 1950s and then went all in on the re-birth of the super-hero genre in 1961, with Stan Lee at the helm.

Now considered hobby treasure, Gold Age and early Silver Age comics are short in supply and very high in demand. Collectors of vintage issues make a nice score with this 1953-1962 Atlas/Marvel anthology format comic book lot of (15). Sandwiched between the super-hero eras, these vintage classics are highlighted by several early issues from the mega-popular "Tales of Suspense" and "Tales to Astonish" titles. Featured are:

Adventures Into Weird Worlds #16 with a Vampire chick on the front cover (VG 4.0) with deference to a name written on the front. Vampires were one of the things outlawed by the "Comics Code Authority", which began censoring comics in the mid-'50s.
