Discerning collectors strike an important issue off your list, when you take possession of this key super-hero comic book. Offered is a high quality example of Showcase #34 featuring the first appearance of the Silver Age Atom. Published by DC Comics, this issue is dated "9-10/61" and boasts fantastic cover art by venerable artist Gil Kane, along with Murphy Anderson. Those seeking better grade examples of key issues will score big with this well-preserved example, which is graded (9.0) by CGC. This prestigious rating is good for a CGC Census ranking of "1/8" at this level, with only 5 higher, out of a Universal Grade population of 606. Label notations are "Off-White to White Pages, Gardner Fox story, Gil Kane & Murphy Anderson cover & art, Origin & 1st appearance of the Silver Age Atom (Ray Palmer), 1st appearance of Jean Loring". Seen lately in the hit TV show "Legends of Tomorrow", the Atom/Ray Palmer character is enjoying a big uptick in popularity and as with all Silver Age keys, this first appearance issue continues to escalate in value.
