The "Father of Baseball" authored and compiled numerous 19th-century publications, but his 1860s Haney guides are among the most desirable and seldom seen. Measuring 5-5/8" x 3-3/4", this particular example is technically GD condition yet displays nicer thanks to its impressively intact orange cover label: "Haney's / Base Ball Reference / For 1867, / By Henry Chadwick." There are pencil notations on the first and last few interior pages, as well as foxing throughout. An eye-catching Peck & Co. ad appears on the inside back cover, just two years before the famously seminal Peck & Snyder card of the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings.
