Three of the highest ranking officers in American history sail into view with this U.S. Navy Admiral framed autograph display lot of (3). These men were integral to the success of the war effort in WWII, particularly in the Pacific Theater. Presenting in excellent condition, all (3) displays are professionally mounted in ensemble fashion with signed photos and accompanying career related items. Auction LOA from JSA. Included are:

Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz (d.1966): 33x22 display with tasteful gold gilt frame and nicely coordinated blue and gold double-matting, features a signed (“8-9”) photo personalized to “Sgt. Eugene Maxey, USMC”. This letter is accompanied by a photo of the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, three patches, a brass title plate and a cloth insignia emblem with a five-star cluster. Nimitz is one of just four U.S. Naval officers to attain the rank of Fleet Admiral and during his military service was considered our leading submarine authority.

Fleet Admiral Ernest J. King (d.1956): 37x20 display also framed in gold gilt with blue and gold matting, King has signed (“9”) a photo of himself that is dated “5/20/38” with the inscription “Vice Admiral U.S. Navy, Commander Aircraft Battle Force, U.S. Fleet”. This photo is accompanied by a brass title plate, Navy Seal emblem, two additional photos and a cloth emblem insignia with five-star cluster. King is another of the four U.S. Navy officers to reach the rank of Fleet Admiral.

Admiral Raymond A. Spruance (d.1969): 20-1/2 x 19-1/2” display with brass metal frame and blue/gold matting, Spruance has signed (“9”) an 8x10 photo personalized to Ambassador Robert McClintock (to Lebanon 1958-1961) with “with admiration and best wishes” salutation. This photo is accompanied by a 6/26/44 Time magazine cover, a cachet postmarked 7/3/84, a Navy Seal emblem and a metal four-star strip. Spruance scored the first major victory over Japan in WWII at the Battle of Midway, considered the turning point of the War in the Pacific.
