If a “Mount Rushmore” were constructed of the most desirable baseball cards in history there would be virtually no argument among the first three candidates. Along with the near impossible 1909-11 T206 White Border Honus Wagner and 1933 Goudey Baseball #106 Napoleon Lajoie cornerstones, the standard bearer of the modern collecting hobby in the offered 1952 Topps Baseball #311 Mickey Mantle high number would undoubtedly be included. Quite simply, it is one of the few sports collectibles that transcends the industry.

Graded Good+ 2.5 by PSA, this debut high number of the New York Yankee icon is an essential piece for those pursuing the iconic 1952 Topps Baseball edition. The slightly scuffed, but crease-free surface is framed by moderately rounded, but not excessive corner wear along with creamy white edges with incidental notching. Despite obvious handling by an earlier fan, the overall presentation of the card remains eye-catching and attractive. The “laces face left” reverse which details Mantle’s potential is problem-free and accentuated by bold text. As a card with perpetual “upside potential”, the time is always right for placing a strong bid on a 1952 Topps Mantle rookie. Why not now?
