The offered 1909-11 T206 White Borders Hal Chase (Blue Portrait) with a Broad Leaf 350 Subjects advertising reverse is the only example of this pose at the grading level with none better. For reference, Huggins & Scott offered the only other confirmed copy of the player/pose and brand in December 2014. The PSA Poor 1 copy with significant reverse paper loss sold for $3,000 before buyer’s premium. This particular specimen presents quite nicely for the technical grade. Despite a fleck of surface paper loss, an additional browned upper edge and horizontal creasing spanning Chase’s uniform, the illustration of the turn-of-the-century star is not seriously affected. While reverse paper loss is noticeable near the bottom of the reverse, the text confirming the elusive brand remains bold and attractive.
