Advanced collectors put an important mark on your mission checklist by acquiring this rare card. Considered the first major baseball card series of the 20th Century, the Breisch Williams E107 cards are reported with very low population numbers for all examples. Encapsulated and designated SGC PR 10, this well-loved “Kid” Gleason card is noted as (1/5) at this level with just (1) higher. A two-way star player as a second baseman and pitcher in the majors, Gleason is best known as the manager of the infamous 1919 “Black Sox” team. Shown in the prime of his playing career, Gleason lives up to his nickname in the youthful obverse portrait photo. The reverse bears the printed declaration “One of a hundred fifty prominent Baseball players” and the proprietary over-stamp “George Neal, Agent The Saturday Evening Post, Union St., Milton, Del.”, which does not diminish the bold printed text.
