On March 19th, 1966 history was made at Cole Field House in College Park, Maryland as Texas Western defeated Kentucky to claim the NCAA Basketball crown. The hotly contested pairing matched the upstart all-African American starting five of Texas Western against the established Caucasian “blue bloods” of Kentucky.
