As reporters became increasingly invasive, Phillies southpaw Steve Carlton left them (and opposing batters) in the dark. The Hall of Famer let his pitching do the talking and, in the matter of this team-issued warm-up jacket, his pen. The maroon knit zippered garment features the script-style “P” logo sewn to the left breast in maroon-on-white twill, while maroon-and-white striped stretch ribbed knit lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings. On the right breast, Carlton has signed in black marker (“8-9”) strength. Basic cert/sticker from JSA.
The jacket is a professional model garment with two front pockets and exhibits minimal wear. There is no tagging, though the style appears to be from the early-1980s.
