Swashbuckling bats and the black-and-yellow color scheme have long defined the Pittsburgh Pirates. These (5) professional model jackets were issued by Bucs installments from the 1980s to 2000s. Light to moderate wear is evident throughout with proper “King Louie,” “Starter” or “Apex One” tagging. Headlining the lot are a 1990s full-length bullpen jacket and a 1987 warm-up jacket worn by former pitcher Jim Winn. More on our website.
Jim Winn 1987 Game-Worn Pittsburgh Pirates Warm-Up Jacket: a black satin-like zippered garment with two front pockets, “Jim Winn 41” embroidered to the left breast in yellow and “Pittsburgh Pirates 1987” embroidered to the back in like fashion. Black stretch ribbed knit lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings, while the cotton-lined interior is home to a “King Louie” size “XL” tag. Light wear is evident.
1987-1996 Pittsburgh Pirates Jacket: a black nylon button-down garment with two front pockets, a team logo embroidered to the left breast and yellow piping along the arms and shoulders. A National League logo patch adorns the left sleeve, while black stretch ribbed cotton lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings. Within the collar, a “Starter” size “XXL” label is sewn just below a handwritten notation of “42.” The latter identifier suggests wear by either Logan Easley (1987), Steve Carter (1989-1990), Gary Varsho (1991-1992), Brian Shouse (1993), Lee Hancock (1995-1996) or Jason Schmidt (1996). Moderate wear is evident.
1990s-2000s Pittsburgh Pirates Warm-Up Jacket: a black nylon pullover garment with a “P” logo sewn to the left breast in red-on-yellow and yellow cotton panels lining the back of the shoulders. The waistline is lined with elastic. Within the two-button micromesh-lined collar, a “Starter” label has illegible handwritten notations and is accompanied by a size “XL” tag. Light wear is evident.
1987-1996 Pittsburgh Pirates Jacket: a black nylon button-down garment with two front pockets, a yellow left sleeve and “PIRATES” embroidered across the chest in yellow-on-white. A team logo is embroidered to the left sleeve, with an MLB silhouette logo is sewn atop the back. Black stretch ribbed knit lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings, while the collar’s interior is home to a “Starter” label, a size “XL” tag and a handwritten notation of “79.” The latter identifier suggests spring training wear, as no Pirates player has ever worn that number during the regular season. Light wear is evident.
1987-1996 Pittsburgh Pirates Bullpen Jacket: a black nylon full-length zippered garment with two front pockets, a drawstring-lined hood, quilted lining and a team logo sewn to the left breast. There are Velcro fasteners at the sleeve endings, as well as two interior breast pockets. Within the collar, an “Apex One” label is accompanied by a laundering instructions tag and a size “XXL” tag. Light wear is evident.
