In the wake of a performance-enhanced campaign in which two players shattered a single-season home run record that had stood for 36 years without serious challenge, Major League Baseball announced its “All-Century Team” and introduced several of its members at the Mid-Summer Classic at Boston’s Fenway Park. While revered icons such as Aaron, Banks, Feller and Mays appeared and reminded us how genuine and good the game once was, the unannounced appearance of Ted Williams (his last public appearance before his death and subsequent freezing) trumped all other events that night. This salesman’s sample ring was crafted for that memorable All-Star Game. The size 10-1/2 “Josten’s” white lustrium accessory is accented by a cubic zirconium stone and engraved identifiers. More on our website.

The ring’s facing features “’99” in raised numerals on a garnet-like stone, with “MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL” displayed above in raised characters and “ALL STAR” displayed below in like fashion. Between the numerals, a simulated diamond (cubic zirconium) serves as the centerpiece. On the left shank, an engraved banner display reads “FENWAY PARK 1912” and is accompanied by an engraved American League logo. The opposite shank is home to a Red Sox relief logo, “ALL STAR GAME ‘99” in raised letters and “BOSTON” displayed in the familiar “dirty sox” font.
