Two years removed from a climactic World Series win, the 1962 Pittsburgh Pirates registered 93 wins, only to finish fourth in the rugged Senior Circuit. The Bucs' “streaky” nature proved to be their downfall, as a 10-0 start and three additional seven-game winning streaks were offset by six spells of four or more consecutive losses. As they endured that roller coaster ride, (25) members of that ’62 Pirates squad autographed this ONL Giles ball. The off-white orb features ballpoint pennings that average (“5”) strength and include: Sweet Spot: Murtaugh (clubhouse); North Panel: Gibbon, Trucks (coach), Clemente, Mazeroski, Hoak, Neeman, Haddix and Leppert; South Panel: Goss, Burgess, Marshall, Virdon, Sturdivant, Groat and Lambabe; West Panel: Schofield, Skinner, Francis, Clendenon and Northey (coach); East Panel: Law, Olivo, Friend, McBean and Face.
