While fans have followed the careers of Hall of Famers at the ballpark, on television screens or the AM radio dial, there comes a time to bid adieu to our heroes. Issued at Major League Stadiums as a tribute to some of those legends, these (50-plus) souvenir programs and posters offer final memories and “thanks” for those who provided the game with memorable careers. These commemorative keepsakes show (EX-MT) and (NM) quality with highlights including: Aparicio, Bench, Clemente, Killebrew, J. Robinson and Schmidt. More on our website.

PLAYER TRIBUTE PROGRAMS:

Luis Aparicio: issued at Comiskey Park on July 19, 1970 (during Aparicio’s final season with the White Sox), the two-page souvenir (VG-EX) features statistics and photos from the shortstop’s Hall of Fame career
(2) Johnny Bench: issued at Riverfront Stadium on September 17, 1983 for the game between the Reds and Houston Astros, these program/scorecard guides are entitled “Goodbye Johnny” and pay tribute to the Reds legend in the final days of his Hall of Fame career.
(3) George Brett: entitled “3000!” and issued by the Kansas City Royals, these 1992 commemorative publications are all (MT)
(2) Lou Brock: issued at Busch Stadium on September 9, 1979, these (NM) two-page souvenirs pay tribute to the retiring Brock in photos and text
Steve Carlton: a commemorative photo and stat compilation issued at Veterans Stadium on July 29, 1989
Roberto Clemente: issued at Three Rivers Stadium on July 24, 1970, a two-page souvenir paying homage to the Hall of Famer with text, photos, statistics and a full-page color photo; presents (EX)
(2) Harmon Killebrew: issued at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome for a 1984 game between the Twins and Milwaukee Brewers, these (NM) program/scorecard souvenirs feature content celebrating Killebrew’s induction as the first-ever Twins player in Cooperstown.
Juan Marichal: issued at Candlestick Park on July 10, 1983, this (NM) souvenir program celebrates Marichal’s election to the Hall of Fame
(3) Willie Mays: issued at Candlestick Park on August 20, 1983, these commemorative editions detail the career of Mays in photos and testimonials.
(3) Manny Mota: issued at Dodger Stadium on October 2, 1976, these two-page tributes detail the star’s lengthy career (which wouldn’t end until after the 1982 season) in pictures and statistics
(2) Phil Niekro: issued at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium on July 16, 1977, these commemorative guides paid tribute to the knuckle-balling veteran (though his career was far from over); both are (EX-MT)
Brooks Robinson: a 2-page thick stock souvenir with black-and-white imagery of the Hall of Famer's on-field wizardry; likely issued at Memorial Stadium (specific date unknown) during the latter portion of Robinson's career (presents NM)
(2) Jackie Robinson: issued at Dodger Stadium on July 21, 1977, there two-page souvenirs (both (EX-MT) recognize the Dodger great on the 30th anniversary of his debut.
(3) Nolan Ryan: issued at The Ballpark in Arlington on September 15, 1996 for the ceremony in which Ryan’s number “34” was retired by the Rangers; program/scorecard souvenirs are all (MT)

Mike Schmidt: a commemorative photo and stat compilation issued at Veterans Stadium on May 26, 1990
Duke Snider: issued at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on August 26, 1960, this 28-page souvenir tribute guide recognizes the Dodger great for his contributions in both Brooklyn and Los Angeles; this rare survivor presents minimally (EX-MT)
Bill Veeck: a 1976 Comiskey Park program/scorecard issued at a game between the White Sox and A’s on “Bill Veeck Appreciation Night” (program is EX-MT)
