Spared from “The House That Ruth Built,” this original Yankee Stadium seat was once a fixture in the Bronx edifice that was home to Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle and 20 world championship rosters before being temporarily closed and renovated after the 1973 season. Measuring 27-1/4”-wide and 31-1/4”-tall, the hinged wooden seat and three-panel backrest are secured within a four-platform iron frame shaped to form armrests. A plate affixed to the middle backrest panel dates the relic to the 1973 season. The original “16” seat number decals remain.
The wooden components are painted blue, while the iron portion has a vintage coat of yellow paint, which shows expected chips from stadium wear and weather.
