Among the tougher Chief Executive autographs, the pennings of 23rd U.S. President Benjamin Harrison are plentiful in this lot of (4) checks signed by the Republican whose term (1889-1893) was flanked by Grover Cleveland's non-consecutive terms. Dating from 1879-1900, the vouchers were drawn from Indiana’s Fletcher Bank and are each signed by Harrison in black ink. The signatures average (“8-9”) potency, though the latter scripting is affected by cancellation punchings. LOA from John Reznikoff, University Archives. This lot has a reserve (estimated value $500-$1000)
