Briggs Stadium, former home of the Detroit Tigers came to be known for its nostalgic details including highly prized Tiger “Figurals” located on end of the row seats. Presented is a handsome seat #1 featuring a Tiger Figural located on the left. The fearsome 6x8 mascot is posed in a batting stance ready to menace opposing pitchers. Both the seat and figural are painted in period authentic green used during 1938-1977. In 1977 Briggs Stadium underwent renovations that saw the replacement of the wood and iron green seats by blue plastic ones. More on our website.

Many of the Tiger figurals were damaged during the 1977 removal. This hardy survivor displays fantastic original details minimally affected by small bits of scattered paint wear. The top wood rung of the back portion bears a bright #1 stenciled in white over glossy green paint. This top rung is missing a minor amount of wood at the bottom of the left edge. There are also two sets of initials lightly scratched into the paint on either side of the #1. The rest of the seat shows more than 90% of the paint with scattered areas of light to moderate wear including complete separation from one of the bolts on the seat portion. This age appropriate wear enhances the authentic “game used” quality of this display worthy souvenir.
