The long-running Detective Comics series gave rise to Batman way back in 1939. Detective Comics and titles such as Batman, The Brave and The Bold, World's Finest and others, served as the source material for the socko-hit 1966 Batman TV show. A wild success, the campy TV show returned the favor by influencing the on-going comic book runs. One manifestation of the influence was a re-design of the Batmobile. The revised version of Batman's iconic automobile showed up in print for the first time in the pages of this 1/68 DC Detective Comics #371 issue. On top of that, Batgirl graces the cover and the cast of creators is stellar. Having just emerged from the loving embrace of the original owner, this Silver Age classic is fresh back from CGC with a more-than-respectable grade of (7.0, Off-White to White Pages). Label notes are "Gardner Fox story, Gil Kane, Sid Greene & Mike Sekowsky art, Carmine Infantino, Murphy Anderson cover. New look for Batmobile, based on Batman TV show. Batgirl appearance."
