Published in 1887 by Liebenroth, Von Auw & Co., the "Our National Pastime" scrapbook was a big hit in its day, marrying the great game of baseball with the widespread scrapping hobby, which was at the height of its popularity at the time. This Victorian Era publication sported a baseball cover and 6 lithograph bookplate illustrations of scenes from our national pastime, along with plenty of blank pages to paste in ephemera of your choice. Here we have (2) of the lithograph plates from this antique scrapbook. Both are matted in similar fashion, to overall dimensions of 14x17. One is captioned "Our National Game," and presents handsomely with light wear. The other is captioned "Wild Pitch," and remains appealing despite several creases.
