Equipment specialists, make a nice catch with these (2) 1976 Spalding Official American League/Lee MacPhail baseballs in unopened factory boxes. AL president MacPhail was in office for this position from 1974-1983. OAL/MacPhail balls came in boxes with Reach branding during 1974-1975, and modernized designs with different color schemes were created for Spalding boxes dating from 1977-1982, and 1983, as Rawlings had taken over making MLB baseballs beginning in 1977. That leaves only the 1976 season, for manufacture of these presumed pristine baseballs in original boxes. MacPhail facsimile signatures are located on the right side panels, and the front panels are stamped with "Sewn in Haiti". Both tightly sealed boxes are clean and retain a solid shape, with vivid colors, and a nice sheen, however each of the four side panels on both boxes, have a small wear spot at center. Otherwise appearance is factory fresh for both.
