This type-written letter on Boston Red Sox stationery was written by Tom Yawkey, president of the club. Yawkey was also the owner of the Boston Red Sox for 44 years and was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1980. The letter is dated August 18, 1975 and is addressed to Master Mark Adams of Elma, NY. Yawkey explains how he knew Mark’s grandfather very well, and it's difficult to answer the young lad’s questions because he had the opportunity of seeing so many great players, although he does conclude that Ted Williams was the best hitter that he ever saw. Signed (“7-8”) in blue ballpoint, PSA/DNA has encapsulated the letter and declares it authentic. Opening Bid $150.
