Non-sport collectors take flight with this collection of (11) uncut (4)-card panels from the 1950-1960 R380-1 Airplane Series. While singles from this anonymous maker series are fairly scarce, finding an intact panel of these perforated cards is a special event. Scoring (11) such panels in one group, calls for an all-out celebration. The style of these fascinating aviation cards is reminiscent of the 1920s strip card issues, but in larger format. Adding great excitement to this offering, are several prominent aviators with Amelia Earhart, Howard Hughes, James Doolittle, Richard Byrd, and Charles Lindbergh. Also present is Lindbergh's famous plane Spirit of St. Louis.

Formatted in pinwheel fashion, these 5" x 5" panels are comprised with (4) 2" x 3" cards per panel, centered by a 1" x 1" title card, printed with "Airplane Series - Cut apart along perforated lines. Buy 'em - Save 'em - Trade 'em." This group totals (44) cards, with a near-complete set of (32/40), and (12) duplicates. Condition of the (44) cards ranges (14% VG-EX, 16% VG, 40% GD, 14% FR, 14% PR).

Featured card numbers are: 5, 6, 7 Amelia Earhart (GD), 8, 9 (2), 10 (2), 11 (2), 12 (2), 13 (2), 14 (2), 15 (2), 16 (2), 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 Howard Hughes (GD), 28, 29, 30, 31 James Doolittle (VG), 32, 33 (2), 34 (2), 35 Richard Byrd ((2) FR, PR), 36 (2), 37, 38, 39 Charles Lindbergh (PR), 40 Spirit of St. Louis (GD).

Opening Bid $250.
