Given the whole secret identity thing, comic book heroes have to be more than a little tricky. In his early days of battling crime in Hell’s Kitchen, Daredevil put on authorities and the public by pretending he had a sighted brother Mike, who was actually the guy in the Daredevil suit. The ruse led to complications and in 1968, sight-deprived Matt Murdock killed off his imaginary twin brother. That’s the trick part for this 6/68 Marvel Daredevil #41 issue, which is captioned on the front cover with “The Death of Mike Murdoch!” This very nicely preserved comic hits the auction block in (FN-VF) condition, and it might improve a grade or two, with professional pressing. The pleasing condition qualifies for the treat part, but this vintage comic has something much bigger going for it as it is signed with (“9”) strength on the bottom border of page 1 by none other than the great Stan Lee, bringing this “trick or treat” game to a super-high level.
