This Louisville Slugger is correctly labeled for the player, with “Genuine C243 Alfonso Soriano New York Yankees” burned into the barrel. Authentic game use is outstanding, with a proper tape job on the handle, a heavy layer of pine tar over the factory brand label, and numerous contact marks, cleat impressions, and bat rack streaks on the barrel. Though this uncracked bat is offered without authentication for game use, the credible characteristics are consistent with known Soriano gamers. Soriano has signed above the barrel labeling in blue with (“8.5”) strength. Following brief call-ups in 1999 and 2000, Soriano hit the ground running in 2001, helping the Yankees win the American League pennant, while finishing third in AL Rookie of the Year voting.
