1985 George Foster New York Mets Game-Used Bat - PSA/DNA GU 8 -
Things started looking up for the New York Mets in 1982, when they brought in slugger George Foster. Of course, they had nowhere to go but up as they finished last in '82. By the time Foster was wielding the offered bat in 1985, the Mets were knocking on the door to eternal glory with a 98-win season, and the following year they would reach the promised land with a World Series triumph over the Boston Red Sox, who suffered from "The Curse of the Bambino." While with the Mets, Foster picked right up from his days with "The Big Red Machine" as a rock steady power supplier. Rock your collection with this Foster game-used bat. A Louisville Slugger model F149, this bat show heavy use/wear, including a handle crack, with a 3 x 1/2" chunk gone. Numerous contact marks and bat rack streaks cover the barrel. The handle is scored for an enhanced grip, Foster's uniform number "15" is written on the knob, and a piece of tape with "85" is affixed to the barrel end. PSA/DNA has weighed these factors, to arrive at a grade of (GU 8). Full LOA from John Taube-PSA/DNA.
