Steeped in nostalgia and patriotism, this original piece of art is a joy to behold. The work of artist Wayland Moore (d.2022), this vintage oil painting is the source material for the program cover of the 1985 Cracker Jack Old Timers Classic. Played just a few days before the 4th of July, this exhibition game between retired legends was hosted at RFK Stadium, in Washington DC. Artist Moore has created textured renderings of Hank Aaron, Roger Maris and Bob Feller, set amidst bursts of fireworks, and he has signed at bottom-right, below an APBP logo. Framed in brass to overall dimensions of 24x26, this vibrant, richly textured artwork makes a dynamic presentation, in excellent condition. Accompanying is a program (NM) from the 7/1/85 event.
