This collection of five game-used jerseys from the Philadelphia Phillies unforgettable 1980 World Championship season are all appropriately tagged for that year and show nice game use. Includes:
Wilson size 42 blue zipper-front jersey embroidered “80 2” on the shirt tail and “Eastwick” in the back collar. Front displays “49” with “Larson 49” on the back. This jersey was worn by pitcher Dan Larson in 1980, repurposed from Rawly Eastwick, who only played for the Phillies in 1979.
Wilson size 44 blue zipper-front jersey embroidered “80 2” on the shirt tail and “Ryan” in the back collar. Front displays “5” and the back “Ryan 5” identifying it as worn by bullpen coach, Mike Ryan.
Wilson size 42 white zipper-front jersey with red pinstripes, embroidered “80 1” on the shirt tail and “Lerch in the back collar. With “47” on the front and the back, it has a nameplate sewn on the back that says “Davis.” This was worn by Randy Lerch in 1980 then repurposed for a minor leaguer named Davis.
Wilson size 40 white zipper-front jersey with red pinstripes, embroidered “80-1” on the front shirt tail and “Martinez” in the back collar. With the number “30” on the front and back, this jersey has a nameplate sewn on the back that says “Proly.” Bob Dernier actually wore the number 30 during the 1980 season. What probably happened here is that this jersey was repurposed from a minor league player Martinez as the Phillies have never had a “Martinez” on the club. The next year, 1981, Mike Proly joined the team, and the jersey was reused again for him. Opening Bid $150.
