Rope in “Wild Bill” Veeck for your autograph collection, with this single-signed OAL/MacPhail baseball. Dating from the period 1977-1984, this attractive ball (NM+) was signed by Veeck during the latter stage of his outlandish career. Located on a side panel, Veeck’s autograph is an appealing (“8”) strength application. Blessed with a tremendous sense of humor, the Hall of Fame executive sold the Chicago White Sox in 1981, retiring to watch Cubs games on the North Side at friendly Wrigley Field. In his final years, Veeck battled lung cancer, which claimed his life on 1/2/86. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
