Those who played in the obscurity of segregation and Jim Crow get well-deserved recognition, with this 2001 Baseball in Living Color - Legends of the Negro Leagues autographed trading card set. This celebration showcases 59 Negro Leagues Baseball Veterans whose combined careers represent 38 teams across four decades. A deluxe presentation, this (60) card set is housed in a natural ash hardwood box, and comes with a 21-page biography listing, with information of all players included in the set. Also present are a couple of unsigned subsets, a couple of photos, a timeline story-booklet, a cover letter, a roster page, and a COA from Baseball in Living Color. The cover letter is titled "Preserving a Legacy, and has a QR code that links to a digital file. A checklist inside the box lid is numbered "028/600", however it is reported by the president of Baseball in Living Color, that only fifty sets of the “LEGACY 545” configuration were offered in an ash hardwood box, and this one is essentially number "8/50". The (60) card set is comprised with a checklist card, and (59) autographed cards averaging ("9" to "10") potency, with (54) bearing live signatures, while the other (5) are foil stamped examples of subjects who were physically unable to sign. A photo of the roster page shown below lists all of the subjects, with those that are represented by foil autographs in bold print.
