Sometime in the short window between the conclusion of the 1960 MLB season and Bill Mazeroski's dramatic World Series clinching Game 7 walk-off home run, this 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates pennant was issued. The exciting full-size pennant is a visual delight. Located at left is a team scroll with legend Roberto Clemente listed. To the right of the scroll is the Buccaneer mascot, and a small banner naming manager Danny Murtaugh, followed by team name lettering. Encouragement to beat the mighty New York Yankees in the 1960 Fall Classic came from the legend sprawled across the pennant's lower region, which reads "Beat 'Em Bucs National League Champions 1960." The point is curled, and pinholes are noted at the typical endpoints, otherwise this nicely preserved pennant remains a handsome (EX+) example with bold, intact graphics, full tassels, and a clean surface. Opening Bid $50.
