An exciting youth movement known as the "Whiz Kids" took the National League by surprise in 1950. That's when the Philadelphia Phillies won the pennant in the last game of the season with outfielder Dick Sisler delivering a 10th inning home run against the Brooklyn Dodgers, to cement a first place finish for the Phils. A half century later, surviving members of this famous squad reunited to celebrate the Whiz Kids 50th Anniversary. A sweet souvenir from this 2000 reunion surfaces with this 1950s Phillies team-signed bat. A Stick By Stan custom model with "Whiz Kids 50th Reunion July 8, 2000" burned in the barrel, this like-new bat hosts (12) autographs averaging ("9-10") potency, with: "Bubba" Church with "#23" inscription, Andy Seminick with #21, Stan Lopata with #29, Curt Simmons with 28, Robin Roberts (HOF) with 36, Paul Stuffel, Steve Ridzik, Jack Mayo with 15, Bob Miller, "Maje" McDonnell (X2, coach), and "Putsy" Caballero. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $100.
