This c.1884 linen poster measures 26-1/2" x 16-1/2” and is professionally framed to overall dimensions of 33" x 23". Research suggests this 19th Century relic is a rare survivor of Cleveland’s first presidential campaign. Styled as a faux stained glass window, this poster features stately oval inserts of the candidates, set against muted gold backgrounds. Moderate staining and several scratches mostly affect the orange, yellow and tan field triangle shards, though some staining has bled onto Thomas’ forehead. Otherwise, this antique promoter remains highly appealing, and the serviceable frame is ready for immediate display.
