If ever a ballplayer and a city were made for each other, it was John Kruk and Philadelphia, where you can find the best street food in the nation and the most boisterous fans. “Krukkie's” highly productive time in "Philly" is handsomely represented, with this 1989 game-used Phillies road jersey. A hitting machine with a healthy appetite for fastballs, and said street food, Kruk wore six different uniform numbers during his 10-year MLB career. Tagged inside the collar with a Rawlings size “46” factory label and an adjacent “Set 1 1989” tag, this road gray jersey is actually believed to have been worn by the Phillies much-loved All-Star first baseman in 1991 when he belted a career high 21 homers. This belief is expressed in the accompanying LOA, which notes the first season Kruk wore the number “29,” seen on this jersey, was 1991. Also noted is that 1991 was the last season the Phillies regularly employed this jersey type as the principal road option, and it is suggested this was a leftover 1989 blank pressed into service in ‘91, for the formidable resident of "Macho Row." Kruk’s number and the Phillies logo adorn the front and his number is repeated on the back, along with his nameplate. Rawlings name is stitched into the right sleeve, and a vibrant Phillies patch makes a fantastic decoration on the left sleeve. Signs of use/wear are light, and overall this jersey makes a great presentation. LOA from Phil Wood.

Opening Bid $250.
